2024 Summer Convocation Recap

The 2024 convocation ceremony was not just a celebration of academic achievements but also a significant milestone for students, faculty, and the institution itself. This event marked the culmination of years of hard work and dedication, offering a moment for reflection and looking ahead to future opportunities.

On June 28, 2024, 36 out of the total of 54 graduates walked the stage during the Convocation Ceremony and we are incredibly proud of the achievements of our graduating students.

The 2024 Summer Convocation

The graduation ceremony started with Maria Villamera, Our Childcare and Language Assistant Instructor, being the emcee for the event.

PLC President and CEO, Tarun Khullar gave a welcoming speech that highlighted the institution’s achievements over the past year and congratulated the graduating class on their accomplishments. He spoke of how seeing students reminds him of himself and his journey and how now he is serving the Canadian community.

Mike Hillman, Burnaby City Council, Former Burnaby City Council and Vice Chair of Fraser Heights, was the guest speaker for this ceremony.

As students were graduating, PLC President & CEO Tarun Khullar was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II of Canada Platinum Jubilee Emblem as a result of his contribution to the global community. The award was presented by Mr. Mike Hillman who represented Honorable Sukh Dhaliwal, MP for Newton.

Professor Stuart Thom, a Business Hospitality Management Instructor, gave a speech that emphasized themes of resilience, innovation, and how each assignment and exam at PLC has shaped students to become who they are today.

Our valedictorians, Adaeze Cynthia Atuluku and Josh Singh gave their speeches on their academic journey at Pacific Link College and the lessons they learned along the way, and how they have been implementing and benefitting from what they have learned.

Mr. Isaac Oomen, Our Head of Programs and Relations finalized the convocation by addressing the importance of continuous learning and adapting to the ever-changing global landscape.

How to Get Admitted at Pacific Link College?

Here are a few steps on how to get enrolled for the Summer/Spring Intake 2024 at Pacific Link College:

  • Research the program: With over 20 programs available at PLC, students can get through them and find that which aligns with their academic and career aspirations.
  • Meet admission requirements: Each program has its own admission requirements, individuals are required to meet these requirements before applying for admission. General requirements to get admitted at PLC include students must be 19 years or older, graduated from high school and have evidence of English language proficiency through IELTS, TOEFL, or language proficiency tests.
  • Apply for the Chosen Program: After being sure of the program you want to study and that you have met the admission requirements, you can proceed with applying to study at Pacific Link College.
  • Wait for the Response from PLC:After submitting your application to study at Pacific Link College, you can wait for the response from the college about your admission status. Once you have been admitted, you can proceed with applying for a study permit (for international students) or get ready to start your program (for those who don’t need a study permit).

Pacific Link College visa success rate is high as a college but it also depends on the student who is applying for the study permit. Students should correctly provide all required documents to IRCC for their visa to be approved after all, the study permit approval is under the discretion of the IRCC officer.
